Joe and Jen Sommerfield have recently purchased a property in the Maclagan-Quinalow area with the intent to turn the once cropped 300 acres into a horse breeding centre & agistment property. ‘Blue Hills’ which is now know as International Equine Breeding Centre (IEBC) situated approx 70kms north of Toowoomba . Set on improved fertile pastures IEBC is the ideal environment to stand your stallion or agist your horses and clients can rest assured that their horses will receive the care and attention that they deserve being fed premium quality feed twice a day with all paddocks containing natural shade provided by well established trees IEBC has been operational since September 2008 and is only taking a limited number of horses at very reasonable agistment rates. The property has the capacity to take weanlings, yearlings, dry mares mares and foals and stallions.

A lot of thought has gone into the design and layout of IEBC as safety of our clients’ horses is our number one priority. By consulting other stud owners, vets and fencers in areas like the Hunter Valley & South East Queensland, we have been able to combine a number of ideas and designs to use to our advantage and deliver the best experience to our resident horses.

All mare paddocks consist of wooden posts and capped steel posts with four strand electric wire with the top wire being Gallagher equi fence for clearer visibility and added safety.

The Stallion paddocks are a very spacious 30 by 70 metre made from rolled top and bottom steal railing and 3 electric Gallagher equi fence wire. Also with individual lock up stables with day yards attached.

Our large mare and foal stables are designed for space comfort and safety.

Foaling down paddocks are made from 3 rolled top and bottom steal railing for added safety for the new born
